They don't make good presidential candidates anymore

Conservatism is in dire straits because Candidate McCain's party can't back him due to his lukewarm posturing. To illustrate, here's a quote from a very intelligent friend:
"Saw news coverage of a McCain / Palin rally this week, where the conservative faithful were ripping McCain right to his face for acting like a compromising pansy rather than the leader of a political party during a crisis, who should be leading the charge , identifying the cause of the problems, explaining why liberalism is self-defeating, why corruption is out of control in both parties, and taking the fight to the enemy - in both parties."

"As if somehow, adding a little arsenic to your diet is ok even if its fatal, because you don't want to offend the arsenic growers."
We need Reagan back.

Speech advice for presidential candidates

1. Do not call your audience "my friends" more than once in your speech. I now cringe everytime I hear it. It's really disingenuous. President Kennedy sounded good when he said, "My fellow Americans" because it sounded natural and patriotic at the same time.

2. Do not address people as "citizens of the world." It sounds like you advocate a one-world government.
