"Once I'm done dismantling economic liberty, I'm opening the castle gates."
- B.O. Stinks
"President B.O. said on Tuesday that stalled immigration reform would be a top priority once the fiscal crisis has been resolved."-

"But the fiscal crisis is never resolved, is it? It just keeps getting put off, ignored, tiny bandages placed on it, swept under the rug, etc. The government waits a lifetime just to blow it off. The debt grows, the budget is never balanced, no new revenue coming in, new taxes being created, old taxes being raised, entrepreneurs scared out of creating new business/expanding existing business, and the only winners in all of this are politicians." - Steve

Defining moment of the Obama presidency came to pass last weekend

Remember when Moochelle said that, "For the first time she was proud of the U.S. [when B. Hussein was elected],"? Ever since "reconciliation" took place, the process by which 0bama and his minions "Rahmed 0bamacare through" the sharply divided Congress against the will of the people, and after such dirty deals as "The Louisiana Purchase" took place, we Americans have been subjected to more and more of the same.  Given our Idiocracy, the 24/7 news cycle and our forgetful, me-first nature  these lessons are quite ephemeral.  Seeing a new round of EBT-laden Wal-Mart stampedes gave us pause and showcased these features of our troubled society.

However, there was one event last weekend that we should all be proud of.  Veterans, you know, dangerous usurpers, gathered at the National Mall to tear down "Barrycades" that would never exist in our pre-Marxist times.  You know, the times before PCness and regulation nation could be squelched out of hand because those ideas and the notion that War Memorials could be closed for "our safety" seemed so ridiculous, they would never come to pass.  (During the last "government shutdown", the memorials were never closed.) People gave their lives for the events and ideas that those memorials represent.

The Barrycades were deposited exactly where they belong: 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.  And for that, I was truly proud of my nation again.  And I truly believe that this event should be featured henceforth in all newly published history books, for the blowback against the foolishness of the current administration was the defining moment of his presidency.

Why we MUST NOT re-elect Barrack Hussein Obama to the American presidency (WHOOPS, TOO LATE)

10. UNDERMINING OUR STRENGTH.

The Great Submissive is hellbent on degrading our position of strength. The Mainstream Media bows to him so much that it gets obscured. America used to lead and bow to no one. It was well respected. We went to bat time and time over the last century crushing dictators that committed atrocities and destablilized the region if not the world. Now who will answer the call if America fails?

"The Apology Tour" http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials-perspective/102412-630622-romney-was-right-about-obama-apology-tour.htm?p=full

Leftists just can't get anything right! Why would that be? Perhaps their exclusive preoccupation with their beliefs about how the world SHOULD FUNCTION, make them blind and ignorant of how it actually DOES FUNCTION. They deny realities which contradict their utopian visions. They believe human nature has no spiritual dimension and can be modified and altered by messaging and propaganda. Most of all, they believe that it is their superior intelligence and understanding which entitles them to advise the rest of humanity about what to say, to do, and to believe. Obama is as deluded as his 'advisers' so no one should be surprised why a monumental mistake like the 'Apology Tour' actually occurred. The Obama cabal is very dysfunctional and the sooner we are rid of it the better. - Len Porochnia

He has said, "We are not a Christian nation."  We derived our national strength from purpose, cause, natural law, morality.  We now slip into nihilism and subversive gimmiecrat-defined egoism, collapse of virtue, collapse of belief (except to have no belief), and moral vagrancy.

9. RACISM.

"The cop acted stupidly."

"Trayvon could've been my son."

Always the "great uniter" Barry rushes to judgement against law enforcement and feels the need to stick his nose in where it doesn't belong, where it REALLY doesn't belong.  It's beneath his office, it incites racial disharmony, he speaks without thinking, and he is a FOOL.

Ba rake Insane Reclama is going to lose, I'm just wondering where the mindless race baiting drones will stage their riots and looting.  Is he racist?  You'd better damned well believe it.  For a shell of a man who identifies himself as "black", what does he think about his "white" side, since he is 50% of Caucasian blood.  Why doesn't he identify as "mixed"?

There has never been anyone as divisive as this chump-stain degenerate from the worst pages of American history.

8. HUBRIS.

Hubris sneering, peering down his nose. Speaking at the Brandenburg Gate prior to the election. Arrogant at all times except when apologizing for the country. Concepts like honor are foreign to him - this is why you must not elect him. Disdain for servicemen, love of self, love of Jay-Z, love of expensive parties, love of 100+ rounds of golf (more time spent golfing than in economic meetings). Ya think?

Hubris ( /ˈhjuːbrɪs/), also hybris, from ancient Greek ὕβρις, means extreme pride or arrogance. Hubris often indicates a loss of contact with reality and an overestimation of one's own competence or capabilities, especially when the person exhibiting it is in a position of power. Icarus' flying too close to the sun, despite his father's warning, has been interpreted by ancient authors as hubris, leading to swift retribution. (Source: Wikipedia)
Leaking secrets, pimping the situation room, taking credit for the OBL takedown ("I", "Me", etc. etc.), the SEALs can't stand him, how anyone could is beyond reason.

7. GAFFES/LACK OF CLASS.

- "We are no longer a Christian nation..."  B.O.
- "When we went to Barrack's home country of Kenya..." Moochelle Obama

- Ipod to the Queen with a bunch of the Obozo Fart-speeches; other baubles given to the PM

- Bust of Winston Churchill removed from the Oval Office, first thing into the presidency

- Mocking (in his own words) "Bitter Americans who cling to guns and religion", you know, the 2nd Amendment's repeal would be very good for him, and so would the death of religion
- Dalai Lama - making him walk through a snowy courtyard past mounds of trash in a trash holding area while visiting the White House

- You don't give "shout-outs" to Medal of Honor recipients. Dumbass.

- Corpsmen is pronounced "core-men" not "corpsemen"

- Skipping out on the 100 year anniversary of the Boy Scouts, who believe in "being morally straight"  -  - to go yak with the clucking hens of The View

- To Medvedev - "After the election I'll have more flexibility," to change the U.S. to one big liberal morass, obviously

- Not holding his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, taking exception with people wearing U.S. flag lapel pins

- Having the cross removed from public view (e.g. Georgetown University) prior to his speaking engagements

- His party refusing to acknowledge God at the DNC.  In fact, the masses were adamant about leaving Him out

- And the loudest of all, "You didn't build that," showing his true colors, that the individual citizen is inferior to the state, unworthy of merit, and thus must be subservient to the state, and capitalism is to be reviled.

6. HUSSEIN-CARE.

It's known for the greatest single tax increase in American history.  It exposed corruption in Congress (e.g. "The Louisiana Purchase") and bribery.  A public policy nightmare, it polarized the nation, and a wise leader would've known to fix it before alienating over half the people with a 2,000 page juggernaut nobody understood, and couldn't even read. It was pushed through with convoluted technical tactics ("reconciliation"), and how comfortable do you feel with such a massive bill of massive proportions getting the green-light without clear yes or no?  How can someone take the nation down that path?

More on reconciliation: http://articles.businessinsider.com/2010-01-17/news/29990286_1_41st-vote-filibuster-vote-republican-filibuster

5. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

So this man repeatedly declines meetings with the governor of a state that is being overrun by barbarians (go on, ask me how many illegal immigrants end up in the federal pen) and goes on the offensive with his crony DoJ to try and tell a state that it can't protect its imploding border, because that's a job he's going to neglect to do? And this man has gone the extra mile to allow ILLEGAL immigration to continue unchecked.

And then there's the DREAM Act, which he couldn't get passed federally, so he skirted around just like he did with Obozocare:

On June 15, 2012, President Barack Obama announced that his administration would stop deporting young undocumented immigrants who match certain criteria previously proposed under the DREAM ACT. However, this change in policy does not cover most individuals who arrived in the U.S. legally (see the "Criticism" section below).

On August 15, 2012, the same day that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) began accepting applications under the Obama administration’s new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer issued an executive order preventing the state of Arizona from issuing driver’s licenses and public benefits to young undocumented immigrants who receive deferred status and work authorization under the new program. In addition to driving privileges, Governor Brewer’s order bars undocumented immigrants who qualify for deferred action from receiving state-subsidized child care, health insurance, unemployment benefits, business and professional licenses, and government contracts.[45] Thousands of individuals submitted applications for the new program.[46][47] In late August 2012, ten federal immigration agents sued Janet Napolitano, saying the directive forces them to break the law and ignore their duties.[48][49]

(Source: Wikipedia)

It started when a woman who identified herself as a teacher asked what she was supposed to tell parents (who were illegal immigrants) about why their children (who were also here illegally) couldn't go to college or apply for financial aid, even after they had worked hard and earned good grades.

You see, typically, the pursuit of higher education requires a valid Social Security number, which illegal immigrants don't have. Some states also require that undocumented immigrant students pay exorbitantly high out-of-state tuition rates, even if they and their families have lived in that particular state and paid taxes for years.

My answer to the question shocked some in the mostly Latino audience: Tell the parents they made a terrible mistake when they came into the country illegally, and that they compounded that mistake every day that they stayed here without legal documentation. Explain to them that our actions have consequences and that one consequence of their decision to trespass across the border into the United States is that they and their children were destined to live lives that may never realize their full potential. Make them understand that, while they may be splendid parents in every other way, they did their children a great disservice by leaving them to wander in the shadows. - Unk.

We don't have the capacity to take on endless hordes who don't want to assimilate into our culture, and bog down our cities, and divert our resources from our own citizens.  Listen to the Ethics of the Lifeboat:

If we divide the world crudely into rich nations and poor nations, two thirds of them are desperately poor, and only one third comparatively rich, with the United States the wealthiest of all. Metaphorically each rich nation can be seen as a lifeboat full of comparatively rich people. In the ocean outside each lifeboat swim the poor of the world, who would like to get in, or at least to share some of the wealth. What should the lifeboat passengers donate?
So here we sit, say 50 people in our lifeboat. To be generous, let us assume it has room for 10 more, making a total capacity of 60. Suppose the 50 of us in the lifeboat see 100 others swimming in the water outside, begging for admission to our boat or for handouts. We have several options: we may be tempted to try to live by the Christian ideal of being "our brother's keeper," or by the Marxist ideal of "to each according to his needs." Since the needs of all in the water are the same, and since they can all be seen as "our brothers," we could take them all into our boat, making a total of 150 in a boat designed for 60. The boat swamps, everyone drowns. Complete justice, complete catastrophe. - Garrett Hardin

4. DEFICIT SPENDING.

The housing bubble and its collapse was brought about by the Dems by propping up their insolvent constituencies and threatening banks (Reno) if it was not executed. Legislation was blocked that kept the banks' own self-protection measures healthy. THEN, the Democrats now have spent another $5,000,000,000,000 in mind-boggling ways, without reducing unemployment. Then they blame the poor situation on President Bush. We have ingrained an sulf-sustaining economy of leeches, handouts and cheap Wal-mart crap. It's like a drug addiction, his spending of money, with infinite checks, and no balance.

3. VANITY AND INEXPERIENCE.

Obama has bowed EIGHT times as President, to the Saudi King, the Emperor of Japan, the Queen of England, and many others. He is humble and servile to everyone except the people that elected him.

2. PURVEYOR OF PERVERSITY.

Being gay is something to [sort of] tolerate, not "celebrate".
Associating things with homosexuality in order to be trendy and gain favor with the morally and socially misguided is just another of a long line of examples of the decay of our society and 'defining deviancy down'. "We are not seeking to destroy anyone's rights, but simply protecting ours. Thus we may be seen contributing to a cause that supports our RIGHT likewise. It is marriage, a Jewish and Christian ordinance, that is under attack; not a fundamental right. The holy institution of marriage is the one subjected to intolerance at the prejudice of those who wish to redefine it at the whims of their own desires. Why do people so vehemently want to label a civil union as a marriage being that marriage was instituted by a God and a faith they so utterly despise?" -Unk

Effeminate himself, on his mission to remove an American machismo from the military and everywhere else, he has helped to thwart nature in this country andn ormalize insane, upside-down, passive culture.  Anywhere he can weaken where we are strong, he has succeded.

"So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive. " - Pravda
1. MARXIST-COMMUNIST.

Quoted from the Orange Country Register Letters to the Editor, 30SEP11, http://letters.ocregister.com/2011/09/30/there-will-never-be-a-fair-share/
No, you cannot redistribute your way to prosperity. It doesn’t work, period, end of issue.

Here is what Clueless Comrade Barry, Marxist Democrats – and their Useful Idiots – do not understand about taxes and capitalism.

Where do jobs and opportunities come from?

They come from entrepreneurs and investors taking chances with their own money and being right. They do not come from government bureaucrats picking winners and centrally planning an economy.

When entrepreneurs and investors take chances and are right, they create jobs and opportunities, yes, and they also create profits.

What happens when they reinvest those profits?
If they are right again, they create more jobs, opportunities and profits?

If they are wrong, they lose their time, energy and money.
What happens when the government redistributes their profits?
First, the entrepreneurs and investors do not have that capital to reinvest so even if their analysis and/or instincts are correct, they have fewer resources and thus will not be able to create as many jobs and opportunities… and even fewer profits going forward to restart the cycle.
Second, the government will redistribute those resources to somebody who has not proven they have the ability to create jobs and opportunities with government bureaucrats deciding who gets what. - Unk.

Obama has stolen the future from our children and grandchildren. He has taken away our freedom to believe that the next generation will be better off than ours is/was.

He has taken away the freedom of those Americans, who cannot find jobs, to earn a living and to provide for their families.

Obama has stolen our freedom to feel secure within our boundaries. He has taken away the freedom of a sovereign state to protect its citizens.

He has taken away the freedom of every American to have equal protection under the law. (He has issued a proclamation that black Americans engaged in voter intimidation against whites will not be prosecuted).

He has stolen taxpayer money and used it to reward his supporters and cronies, thereby stealing our freedom to pay taxes only for the legitimate purposes of government.

We have lost the freedom to be proud of our country.

Most of all Obama has stolen our freedom to expect the best from our government. He is rapidly driving us into bankruptcy and stealing our freedom to continue to exist as a strong and sovereign nation.

Obama is an inept, corrupt, and lying thief who has set himself on a course to destroy everything that is right and good about America.

If "the president" would stop taking shots at me, I'd be happy to stop pointing out his myriad of failures. But he continues to take my money and give it to his supporters by the trillions, so I have to defend myself at every opportunity. He continues to take my freedoms. He continues to limit my choices.

He has not enforced the law. I care about that. He has killed hundreds of Mexicans, and many USmericans, too, with his Fast and Furious debacle (designed as a ploy to further infringe the right to keep and bear arms). He has blood on his hands.

He is not assuring that our soldiers can vote. They're over there, in his words, for him. He could at least help them get the ballots they deserve.

As for Singh, I am happy for him. But he didn't build that, somebody else did that.

Mr. O'bama, where are the full-time Jobs? (And, while we're at it, where are the war-zone absentee ballots, Mr. Commander-in-Chief?

Great American Journal on Justice Roberts and Obamacare

Interesting perspective:
"While Roberts has expanded the taxation power, which I don’t really think is a massive expansion from what it was, Roberts has curtailed the commerce clause as an avenue for Congressional overreach. In so doing, he has affirmed the Democrats are massive taxers. In fact, I would argue that this may prevent future mandates in that no one is going to go around campaigning on new massive tax increases. On the upside, I guess we can tax the hell out of abortion now. Likewise, in a 7 to 2 decision, the Court shows a strong majority still recognize the concept of federalism and the restrains of Congress in forcing states to adhere to the whims of the federal government."

So American exceptionalism is ok for those of us who are more equal than others.  And then commenced the world apology tour...  and Obamacare itself is toast.

Joe vs. Jose - land of the free stuff

Thought this was an interesting, to the point explanation of why we need to look at this problem and address it. It's not racism. It's being accountable for your needs and responsibilities like the rest of us.
Interesting when you work the numbers.

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California.
  • Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.
  • Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".
  • Ready? Now pay attention...
  • Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.
  • Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.0 0 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.
  • Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.
  • Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

  • Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.
  • Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.
  • Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has 9,631 .00.
  • Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.
  • Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.
  • Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.
  • Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.
  • Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month..

  • Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.
  • Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family. Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.
  • Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.
Do you get it, now?

Article: "Cantor Urges 'Open Mind' On VA Legislature Plan To Blow Up The Constitution"

Veddy interesting.  States' rights.  Arizona.  In a word, nullification.

Obviously the elephant in the room is this being a logical and quite significant response to Obamacare. (Related article: 'Virginia fires first shot at Obamacare's legality' [LINK])

As you will recall, the tense months leading through to the passage of Obamacare were rife with the lowest form of politicking (e.g. 'The Louisiana Purchase' and several other shocking, naked political transactions took place to assure a vote en pro).  What we would get in return is dubious at best:  a lot of bureaucracy and little choice.  Even if we are hopelessly polarized due to two decades of strangling our norms, "Rammin' it through" does not leave the impression of honorable or effective statecraft.

The article: (LINK)

"Washington has grown far too large and has become far too intrusive, reaching into nearly every aspect of our lives. In just the past few years, Washington has assumed more control over our economy and the private sector through excessive regulations and unprecedented mandates. Our liberty and freedom has lessened as the size and scope of the federal government has exploded. Massive expenditures like the stimulus, unconstitutional mandates like the takeover of health care, and intrusions into the private sector like the auto-bailouts have threatened the very core of the American free market. It's time to return America to the common sense conservative principles of limited government, free enterprise, and individual responsibility. The Repeal Amendment would provide a check on the ever-expanding federal government, protect against Congressional overreach, and get the government working for the people again, not the other way around. In order to return America to opportunity, responsibility, and success, we must reverse course and the Repeal Amendment is a step in that direction." - Eric Cantor

A friend used to say, "The government takes 28% of my paycheck, so I should only have to work 72% of the time."

Find some additional reading, draw a 2 axis grid and try to plot out some intended/unintended costs and benefits - it boggles the mind.  Just don't let a liberal professor do it for you.

Article: "If I told you a year from now..."

Gut-wrenching, sordid, and scandalous - read and weep. The first one that I noticed didn't make it to the list was the White House communications director saying she admired Mao Tse-Tung, murderer of millions and father of communism in China.  I added brackets naming the "personalities" involved.

by Glenn Beck

If I told you a year ago, which I did, you won't recognize the country, you will not recognize America a year from now, I said that a year ago;

if I told you instead that there would be a 9/11 Truther, a guy who said the United States government blew up those buildings, a self‑avowed communist, a guy who, a guy who is speaking in prison anticop, who defended a guy who point blank shot a cop in the head, if I said he would be a high level advisor to the president of the United States, would you believe it?

[Van Jones]

If I said the president would come out in a speech and say I have absolutely no information but the cops acted stupidly because they caught a friend of the president appearing to break into his own home, the cops didn't act stupidly, they just did their job and the president would never apologize, instead he would invite them all for a beer summit and use it as a learning experience about diversity, would you believe it?

[BHO, Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Sgt. James Crowley]

If I would have told you instead of saying you won't recognize this country a year from now, if I instead told you I'm going to be on the cover of Time magazine, would you have believed it?

That I'm going to be one of the ten most fascinating people in 2009, you've got to ask yourself what the hell happened to this country. If I would have told you instead that the most frequent visitor of the White House, over the Secretary of State and everybody else, is a labor union president who has repeatedly said workers of the world unite; and we know we've got a lot of illegal members, illegal aliens in our membership, and who chief guy said, yeah, but we also represent American workers, end quote, that he would be the most frequent visitor at the White House, would you have believed it?

[Service Employees International Union President Andrew Stern]

That the president of the EU would say that 2009 was the year of establishing a global government through the EU and that the climate change treaty would be the next step in one world government, that there would be a call for the end of the dollar as the world's reserve currency by several massive countries and that the leader of Russia would hold up a coin in front of the cameras and say here's a prototype of the new global currency, that in government‑structured bailouts, bondholders would lose their legal status and their investments in favor of labor union payoffs and the courts would say, "Hmmm, yeah, okay."

[Herman Von Rompuy]

That you could lose your home and property through eminent domain and eminent domain would expand in staggering ways. That California would decide to levy a 10% tax on its people and insist it's not a tax; it's just a forced loan. That they would issue IOUs instead of tax refunds.

That New York would say by the end of the year they would be broke. That New York would issue retroactive taxes, that a tax fund for the poorest of Americans would not really be a tax refund. Instead those poorest of Americans would find out many months later that they had to pay income tax on that tax refund.

If I told you that the symbol of capitalism, the Empire State building, would be lit in colors of communist China, would you have believed me?

That the hockey stick chart would be discredited as would its founder along with another leader of the global climate change movement who manipulated data, that they deleted e‑mails and information to avoid Freedom of Information Act, that these same scientists would do everything they could to discredit the peer review process to make sure it remained pure for their ideological purposes, and yet the media wouldn't report on it and we'd still be headed to Copenhagen with a president the who was going to present a 17% reduction in carbon.

For our country, that our science czar, John Holdren, our science czar would be someone who called for forced abortions and sterilization through the drinking water, who said that the redistribution of wealth would be necessary and it would happen through the environmental movement.

That the diversity czar at the FCC, if I just told you a year ago there would be a diversity czar at the FCC, would you have believed me? That the diversity czar at the FCC would say Americans have to decide soon which Americans would have to step down from their positions in order to give others a chance, that this same man said the revolution in Venezuela was incredible and that we should model our FCC and our programs after Venezuela and the revolution.

[Mark Lloyd]

That the U.S. would have a two‑day summit to discuss the role of government in journalism and be discussing a government takeover of journalism and that no journalist would actually report on that.

That they would hold a job summit and not invite the Chamber of Commerce, that two uninvited people could get into the White House state dinner, chat with the president, be near the prime minister of the largest democracy on the planet and that the response from the White House would be, yeah, we need to do a better job with security.

That a U.S. congressman would tell the American people that it's unreasonable to expect people in congress to read bills, and he would say that because our congress would pass two bills over 1,000 pages, that no one in congress had read. One of them was over 2,000 pages.

[Rep. John Conyers]
That a job creating stimulus bill would be written, not read by congress but not even written by Congress. It would be co‑written by the Apollo Alliance, a special interest group whose New York chief was a co‑founder of the Weather Underground and no one would care! That people in Congress would openly be praising Castro, Chavez, that the president would receive an ‑‑ if I said to you a year ago, "You know what's going to happen next year: The president is going to receive an anti‑American book and a photo op from Hugo Chavez and then he would have a one‑hour private meeting with Vladimir Putin where Vladimir Putin, quoting, would teach the president the history of the Cold War.

That our president would give an iPod of his speeches to the queen of England. That he would send the bust of Winston Churchill, which was a gift from the people of England; when the prime minister came over that our president would say to him, hey, by the way attention thanks, but you can take this back to him now and the prime minister would say to him, no, no, no, that was a gift from the people of England to you and you can keep it in one of your museums; we gave it to you on September 11th. No, no, that's okay, and box it up and ship it back!

If I told you that there would be hundreds of thousands of Americans gathered in a true grassroots event in a National Mall in D.C. and the media would not only dismiss them but the government, the president and the media would deem them a danger to the United States, that healthcare would be at 36% approval rating, which is lower than Hillary Care but that those in congress and the White House would still be jamming it down your throats.

That the chief of the treasury who oversees the IRS cheated on his taxes as would almost everyone else in the cabinet.

[Timothy Geithner]

If I told you a year ago when gold was about $800 an ounce that it would be at $1200 an ounce, would you have believed it? That Dubai which a year ago was bailing out our banks would be on the edge of bankruptcy.

If I told you we're going to lose 4 million jobs and the media would report that the White House has created or saved a million jobs even though in their evidence you have to find their evidence on a $20 million redesigned website where it would show that a good portion of these jobs were in about 400 districts that don't even exist.

If I told you that, would you have believed it? Looking at that list, do you recognize the country that you live in? Is this the same country that you lived in a year ago today? I don't think so. I don't recognize it.

If I would have told you that there would be a Muslim terrorist and that he would shoot and killed soldiers at Fort Hood, would you have believed it?

If I told you then that, yes, the president will make a statement but he will spend two minutes prior to giving a shoutout and talking about the conference he had with the American Indian, would you have believed it?

If I then told you after that two minutes he would then say then, oh, and also there's been a shooting of our military but let's not jump to conclusions. And then his Homeland Security director would be over in the Middle East and she would say, don't worry, we're working on things to stop the violence against Muslims in America, would you have believed it?

I can be wrong on an awful lot of things and I have been wrong on an awful lot of things. But when will people in this country, when will the media at least say, gosh, it looks like the direction of our country and the one this guy keeps laying out, gee, some of those things seem to be happening. When will anyone in the media even notice how far we have come?

Bombshell indictment of Donkey shenanigans appears in Salon.com

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whom I used to admire for her smooth aplomb under pressure, has clearly gone off the deep end with her bizarre rants about legitimate town-hall protests by American citizens. She is doing grievous damage to the party and should immediately step down." - Camille Paglia

Excerpted from: http://www.salon.com/opinion/paglia/2009/08/12/town_halls/index.html

Camille Paglia is the University Professor of Humanities and Media Studies at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

No need for me to boast in a period of national political turmoil, so please don't interpret this as such. However, there is a need to rally - being that events fall ever quickly from public consciousness in time for the next news story - and it is the shift in balance of what's making news today that deserves examination.

A haymaker of an article appeared in Salon.com this week (Wow, on Salon?), probably leaving many rat-out-your-parents ethics libs catatonic. This honest indictment by Camille Paglia is some of the finest writing I've seen: graceful, dot-connecting, cogent. Rarely will one of the left's own have the honesty to dare criticize her cronies. Some of the GOP ignore this painful lesson (prominent voices in the party admit they're in disarray and have long been in tatters), but Sen. McCain, the former presidential candidate obviously hadn't when he impaled himself with his own lance, courting the hispanic "open-the-floodgates" lobby, and shishkebabing the rest of the party with him.

So when honest, courageous voices like Paglia's surface, we need to listen well. Her courage invested with this is pallates taller than the shoebox I saw mustered by the GOP in producing a leader for the 2008 election. It's courage we've seen highly evident in these vitriolic town hall meetings capturing so much press (!) and I'm hopeful for Salon for producing an alternative viewpoint. I won't go as far as being "optimistic" though.

Americans, far too long feeling helpless to throw a wedge in the revolving door of legislators and MSM antics quickly forget what a house of cards is in their midst. How often can grassroots America stand by while their intelligence is insulted? From "flyover states" to "astro-turf," it's evident how far out of touch the liberal elite is with its constituency. A unique feature of Paglia's article is making us confront the cumulative nature of these looney goings-on in government. She not only talks the health-care reform debacle, she stacks up all the other remarkable stories which had quickly scuttled away, winds up, and sends them all reeling:

  • Speaker of the house (3rd in line to the Presidency) "Representative" Nancy Pelosi calling private citizens "Nazis"

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whom I used to admire for her smooth aplomb under pressure, has clearly gone off the deep end with her bizarre rants about legitimate town-hall protests by American citizens. She is doing grievous damage to the party and should immediately step down."

  • - Not-so subtle caste warfare from the White House (Don't jump to dismissing the storied "beer summit" and criticism as racism)

"Of course, it didn't help matters that, just when he needed maximum momentum on healthcare, Obama made the terrible gaffe of declaring that, even without his knowing the full facts, Cambridge, Mass., police had acted "stupidly" in arresting a friend of his, Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. Obama's automatic identification with the pampered Harvard elite (wildly unpopular with most sensible people), as well as his insulting condescension toward an officer doing his often dangerous duty, did serious and perhaps irreparable damage to the president's standing. The strained, prissy beer summit in the White House garden afterward didn't help. Is that the Obama notion of hospitality? Another staff breakdown."

"But somehow liberals have drifted into a strange servility toward big government, which they revere as a godlike foster father-mother who can dispense all bounty and magically heal all ills. The ethical collapse of the left was nowhere more evident than in the near total silence of liberal media and Web sites at the Obama administration's outrageous solicitation to private citizens to report unacceptable "casual conversations" to the White House."

Paglia's article is a modern-day Crisis. Thomas Paine would be proud. Pulitzer, please.
