I always wondered why the midstream media declared a state funeral for the passing away for journalist Tim Russert.

I mean, he was a good guy, but why did the cable-news networks go all out, designing fancy cursive fonts, bumper music, and Photoshop collages to provide three-times hourly coverage of this occasion?

And like the article suggests: Why did the coverage seem like the death of President Reagan, or General Custer?
