Instant search results reveal inner thoughts
Irony.
I went to get on FB, and my fingers were on the wrong keys, one position to the right. So I accidentally typed "GS" where the letters "FA" would normally be. And Google has this auto-complete for search results that automatically fills in its common searches related to a given term.
General Schedule, a.k.a. "Government Servant" is commonly abbreviated GS. What instantly appeared: GS Pay Calculator. So it's kind of telling that what might be foremost on the minds of the GS population is their paycheck, and maybe not so much thinking about how they've dedicated themselves to the sustainment of the great United States of America.

"But the fiscal crisis is never resolved, is it? It just keeps getting put off, ignored, tiny bandages placed on it, swept under the rug, etc. The government waits a lifetime just to blow it off. The debt grows, the budget is never balanced, no new revenue coming in, new taxes being created, old taxes being raised, entrepreneurs scared out of creating new business/expanding existing business, and the only winners in all of this are politicians." - Steve

The partisanship of congressional Republicans, not much different from the partisanship of Democrats during George W. Bush’s second term, has been recast as sore-loser bitterness (tinged with racism)."

"Since the 1960s, New Age liberals have been attempting to overturn core American values, especially by transforming the meaning of words that have long been in use. Similar to communist revolutionaries in Eastern Europe throughout much of the twentieth century, contemporary American liberals have discovered that the best way to alter behavior is to penetrate the mind by transforming our vocabulary."
"Finally, one of the key words liberals have gleefully appropriated is 'progressive.' Liberal values are cast as forward-looking, leading to a better, brighter future. And conservative values are tainted as leading Americans toward a dark, superstitious, bigoted and medieval past. In reality, “progressivism” is a philosophy that has already been tried and rejected numerous times: In the ancient world it was called Epicureanism and had short shrift as it was supplanted by polytheism and then Christianity; in the declining years of the Roman Empire, sexual permissiveness was rejected in favor of the intellectual and spiritual brilliance of Christianity; and in the twentieth century the promise of a social utopia based on government redistribution of wealth—communism—also collapsed. Thus, “progressives” harken to past models that invariably fail; conservatives see the bright future of a world that embraces the highest form of philosophy on earth, faith in God, in tandem with the best political and economic system ever created: democracy and free markets."

"Finally, the chickens have come home to roost for the too numerous law schools in this country. Too many law graduates, who do not go on to practice law due to a dearth of jobs, with too much student loan debt. Too many third, fourth, and fifth tier law schools, whose JD degrees are not worth much more than the paper they are printed on. Ironic, but appropriate, that this problem has spawned lawsuits aimed at law schools with over-inflated employment statistics."
"Our nation is facing a potential shortage of health care providers (primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, PA's, etc...) as baby boomers are getting older, and yet, the number of law schools far outnumbers the medical schools. "While we all need good lawyers, the attorney glut is likely responsible for the abundance of frivolous lawsuits and our litigious mindset in this country. "A couple of people mention that this lesbian has 'family values' being the mother of her son. Really? We have all kinds of males and females who have mixed up emotions and values because they have a missing father. There is no way that these women can provide the communications and teachings that a good father can provide to a son. Being a son has sexual impacts that can't be provided from a female no matter how hard they try. In this case, neither females have a good sensual relationship with a male to be able to transfer emotions and feelings that come from being male. The biggest issue in all of the liberation concepts is that we have thrown righteousness out with the bathwater and we have tried to provide justice in all relations and situations. We are a society that is on the edge of loosing consciousness as to what is right. We have taken the lowest road to allow anything to be seen as OK as long as it provides equality by allowing everyone to do whatever they want to do. The next thing will be do we allow men to have more than one wife if all the wives agree to living in a communal relationship or on the other hand, for one wife to have more than one husband. It will only be justice if we allow them to do what they want to do the same as we allow hetero or homosexual couples to do what they want to do. It is even being pushed that pedophiles should have equality to have sex with younger partners. You see when we throw righteousness out the window we have no clear foundation upon which to build society, and everyone ends up doing whatever they want without regard to others. Providing equality can also have backwards rebounds. What if all of the super rich started claiming equal rights for taxes. In other words, equality might be that everyone must pay 15 % of earned income without any kind of deductions. How would our courts handle such a trial when it is so freely giving out equality first one place and then another in all other areas, but not when it comes to taxes!"

"Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: - Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm;... - Life isn't always fair; - And maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies, don't spend more than you can earn and adults, not children, are in charge. His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding a...n unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers - I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone."

Any random, medically normal man is going to be stronger than and capable of physically mistreating 95% of the female population.
Ladies? Listen carefully. The reason men are supposed to hold the door for you and carry your books at school and generally carry on with that "chivalrous" stuff that is nowadays called "patronizing" is to civilize them. It's to teach men how to behave around women, how to properly treat them and restrain themselves around women.
Now, ladies, if you're unhappy about the way you are treated - just beginning with the failure to hold the door - you can blame this feminist mentality. The perverse result of this barbaric ruling is going to be an increase of violence against women.
- UNK., on women in direct action/combat missions
Whatever happened to the notion of men defending women and children? We have turned reality on it's head. Women are not men, and men are not women. There "really" are differences between us! Yet, we continue to castrate men (figuratively), and try to force women into some kind of non-womanhood. We have lost our collective minds! We are not only living in a post-constitutional America, but in an insane and reprobate America.

"...Words are power. If you can change the way people refer to anything, you change the perception. Like the difference between "illegal alien" and "undocumented worker", for instance. From a psychometric perspective, the first term is comprised of two highly negative terms, while the second contains one term with neutral loading, and one with positive loading. "If you charged somebody with 50 crimes on what looked like a fairly simple thing, judges thought you were reaching and they would throw it out. Politically it looked bad -- but the culture has devolved to the point where that's just normal now," Reynolds said.
He believes the time may be ripe for a "loser pays" system in criminal trials. If a defendant is acquitted of charges, or charges are thrown out, the prosecution should bear the court costs of those charges.
"Prosecutors have absolute immunity from civil suit, so when they misbehave, when they engage in misconduct, there's no remedy for a defendant," he said.

I have long perceived a bias in the mainstream media and have for years been frustrated with its implications for our society and nation. The political slant inherent in modern journalism is no longer unexpected and is even tolerable when social and political issues are the topic of debate. When media bias begins to affect our national security, however, the threshold of acceptability is crossed. When media takes the side of our enemies because of political differences with our president, it's time to say ''enough is enough.''
Frequent use of terms like ''enemy,'' ''foe,'' ''bad guys,'' ''Jap,'' etc., to refer to our WWII opponents contrast sharply with the ''insurgents,'' ''freedom fighters,'' ''opposition forces,'' and other benign terms used today. Instead of stories praising heroic Marines decimated by treacherous ''Japs'' who lured their prey in by flying a flag of truce or by whistling the Marine Corps hymn, modern journalists use military setbacks to suggest that the entire military campaign is wrong-headed. Rather than proudly reporting the story of allied paratroopers who killed over 200 German soldiers on a Dutch bridge when they refused to surrender, modern reporters ignore the hostile fire taken by our helicopters from an Iraqi gathering and report that American troops murdered dozens in a wedding party. Rather than reporting the military victory the U.S. Navy narrowly won vs. the Japanese at Leyte Gulf and minimizing stories of the campaign's command-and-control failures, modern journalists now, as a rule, focus on the failures and negatives and minimize the positive. Rather than celebrating our armies' victory against the fight-to-the-death Germans in the Ruhr valley and ignoring the destruction of nearly every house and factory, our reporters today decry the wall of a mosque damaged in a firefight and ignore the fact that terrorists were firing at our boys from this supposedly sacred site.
Again, I am not surprised and generally not offended by the generic liberal bias of the mainstream media - it's become your trademark. The use of this bias to denigrate, demonize, and undermine the efforts of our military forces and our Commander in Chief and his staff in a time of war, however, does offend me. Your falling subscribership and ratings should tell you that many Americans are equally offended. I call on you to examine your biases and your practices ... and start supporting our troops, our President, and our nation in a non-partisan manner. Your political differences, as during World War II, should not be forgotten, but they should be put on the back burner when reporting on our war effort or national policies.

It eventually will happen to every communist or socialist setup. Now, some last longer than others. Even North Korea, at some point -- may not be in our lifetime -- but that's gonna blow up. Cuba's gonna blow up. The ChiComs are engaged in a shell game right now. The ChiComs wouldn't be where they are if it weren't for capitalism. They can't admit it so they're trying to keep communist control over as much of their society as they can.
The biggest fear that the ChiComs have is the people that live out in the country want to move to the cities. The ChiCom challenge, they've gotta create jobs in the countryside to keep the peasants there. If they overrun the cities looking for work, there's big trouble. But the ChiCom solution, the ChiCom route to economic power has been capitalism. So that's why I'm not going anywhere. It is gonna happen. It is gonna implode. It can't do anything other than that. As I say, it's what happens in the meantime. Just how damaged is the country going to be? And the potential for damage is great. I mean, real havoc is being wreaked here. This country is being divided purposely along racial lines and class lines.
I find it really stunning. We are going backwards in this country. We are separating people by class. We are separating people by race. We are not encouraging people to do better. We are not inspiring people to be the best they can be. We are essentially acknowledging that people are not very good and don't have much hope. Well, not "we." The Obama people are thriving by telling their voters who they ought to hate, who they ought to oppose, who they ought to try to eliminate, wipe out, in a political sense, and it's all based on race or other forms of ethnicity. It's terrible. And now the Gallup poll is out and we've lost our optimism. And I don't think it's a coincidence.

DR. BENJAMIN CARSON: There are a group of people who would like to silence everybody and have everybody go along to get along, but that's not going to be very helpful for us in the long run, in terms of solving our problems. And somebody has to be courageous enough to actually stand up to, you know, the bullies.- Your World, February 11, 2013
DR. CARSON: One of the things I also said during the speech is there will be some people who will say, 'but you’re a doctor and you’re a surgeon, you should be sticking to that.' And I mentioned the fact that five physicians signed the Declaration of Independence and were involved in the framing of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and several other things.
There’s absolutely no reason at all that physicians, scientists, shouldn’t be involved in things that affect all of us. We’re people who've learned how to make decisions based on facts, empirical data, rather than on ideology, and one of the geniuses, one of the real things that made us a great nation, is that we brought people from all backgrounds into the legislative process. So that all of us would be able to place our interests there and we've gone significantly away from that.
And no one goes up to a lawyer and says why are you getting involved in this, that and the other thing. I don't see why they would say it to a physician, who has more education than anyone else in society.
DR. CARSON: There’s no question that [President Obama] has advocated, you know, basically a policy of tax the rich. And I have advocated a policy that comes from the Bible, which is a very fair policy of proportional taxation. If it was good enough for God, why wouldn’t it be good enough for us? The minute you deviate away from that, you begin to get into all kinds of biases. And one could legitimately make the argument that the rich pays too many taxes. The top 1% pays 37% of the taxes, the top 5% [pays] 59% of the taxes, but they don't make that much of the income. One could make that argument.
DR. CARSON: I'm very focused on education and getting the populace back to where it used to be -- like back in 1831 when Alexis de Tocqueville was so impressed -- because an uneducated populace will fall for anything.
And if you and you talk to most people, they mean well but they don't have much of a breadth of education, of knowledge, of understanding of what the real issues are and, therefore, they listen to pundits on television who tell them what they're supposed to think and they keep repeating that and pretty soon they say, 'Oh, well that must be true.'
All part of "doublespeak", or any other form of propaganda. When you allow any group control of both language and information, then you can expect to see 'fundamental transformation'."

As every sane political leader knows by now, this is not just a temporary emergency created by a bizarre fit of reckless lending: the crash of 2008 simply blew the lid off the real scandal of western economic governance. Having won the Cold War and succeeded in settling the great ideological argument of the 20th century in favour of free-market economics, the nations of the West managed to bankrupt themselves by insisting that they could fund a lukewarm form of socialism with the proceeds of capitalism.Daley, Janet. Why we MUST NOT re-elect Barrack Hussein Obama to the American presidency (WHOOPS, TOO LATE)
10. UNDERMINING OUR STRENGTH.
The Great Submissive is hellbent on degrading our position of strength. The Mainstream Media bows to him so much that it gets obscured. America used to lead and bow to no one. It was well respected. We went to bat time and time over the last century crushing dictators that committed atrocities and destablilized the region if not the world. Now who will answer the call if America fails?
"The Apology Tour" http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials-perspective/102412-630622-romney-was-right-about-obama-apology-tour.htm?p=full
Leftists just can't get anything right! Why would that be? Perhaps their exclusive preoccupation with their beliefs about how the world SHOULD FUNCTION, make them blind and ignorant of how it actually DOES FUNCTION. They deny realities which contradict their utopian visions. They believe human nature has no spiritual dimension and can be modified and altered by messaging and propaganda. Most of all, they believe that it is their superior intelligence and understanding which entitles them to advise the rest of humanity about what to say, to do, and to believe. Obama is as deluded as his 'advisers' so no one should be surprised why a monumental mistake like the 'Apology Tour' actually occurred. The Obama cabal is very dysfunctional and the sooner we are rid of it the better. - Len Porochnia
He has said, "We are not a Christian nation." We derived our national strength from purpose, cause, natural law, morality. We now slip into nihilism and subversive gimmiecrat-defined egoism, collapse of virtue, collapse of belief (except to have no belief), and moral vagrancy.
9. RACISM.
"The cop acted stupidly."
"Trayvon could've been my son."
Always the "great uniter" Barry rushes to judgement against law enforcement and feels the need to stick his nose in where it doesn't belong, where it REALLY doesn't belong. It's beneath his office, it incites racial disharmony, he speaks without thinking, and he is a FOOL.
Ba rake Insane Reclama is going to lose, I'm just wondering where the mindless race baiting drones will stage their riots and looting. Is he racist? You'd better damned well believe it. For a shell of a man who identifies himself as "black", what does he think about his "white" side, since he is 50% of Caucasian blood. Why doesn't he identify as "mixed"?
There has never been anyone as divisive as this chump-stain degenerate from the worst pages of American history.
8. HUBRIS.
Hubris sneering, peering down his nose. Speaking at the Brandenburg Gate prior to the election. Arrogant at all times except when apologizing for the country. Concepts like honor are foreign to him - this is why you must not elect him. Disdain for servicemen, love of self, love of Jay-Z, love of expensive parties, love of 100+ rounds of golf (more time spent golfing than in economic meetings). Ya think?
Leaking secrets, pimping the situation room, taking credit for the OBL takedown ("I", "Me", etc. etc.), the SEALs can't stand him, how anyone could is beyond reason.Hubris ( /ˈhjuːbrɪs/), also hybris, from ancient Greek ὕβρις, means extreme pride or arrogance. Hubris often indicates a loss of contact with reality and an overestimation of one's own competence or capabilities, especially when the person exhibiting it is in a position of power. Icarus' flying too close to the sun, despite his father's warning, has been interpreted by ancient authors as hubris, leading to swift retribution. (Source: Wikipedia)
7. GAFFES/LACK OF CLASS.
- "We are no longer a Christian nation..." B.O.
- "When we went to Barrack's home country of Kenya..." Moochelle Obama
- Ipod to the Queen with a bunch of the Obozo Fart-speeches; other baubles given to the PM
- Bust of Winston Churchill removed from the Oval Office, first thing into the presidency
- Mocking (in his own words) "Bitter Americans who cling to guns and religion", you know, the 2nd Amendment's repeal would be very good for him, and so would the death of religion
- Dalai Lama - making him walk through a snowy courtyard past mounds of trash in a trash holding area while visiting the White House
- You don't give "shout-outs" to Medal of Honor recipients. Dumbass.
- Corpsmen is pronounced "core-men" not "corpsemen"
- Skipping out on the 100 year anniversary of the Boy Scouts, who believe in "being morally straight" - - to go yak with the clucking hens of The View
- To Medvedev - "After the election I'll have more flexibility," to change the U.S. to one big liberal morass, obviously
- Not holding his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, taking exception with people wearing U.S. flag lapel pins
- Having the cross removed from public view (e.g. Georgetown University) prior to his speaking engagements
- His party refusing to acknowledge God at the DNC. In fact, the masses were adamant about leaving Him out
- And the loudest of all, "You didn't build that," showing his true colors, that the individual citizen is inferior to the state, unworthy of merit, and thus must be subservient to the state, and capitalism is to be reviled.
6. HUSSEIN-CARE.
It's known for the greatest single tax increase in American history. It exposed corruption in Congress (e.g. "The Louisiana Purchase") and bribery. A public policy nightmare, it polarized the nation, and a wise leader would've known to fix it before alienating over half the people with a 2,000 page juggernaut nobody understood, and couldn't even read. It was pushed through with convoluted technical tactics ("reconciliation"), and how comfortable do you feel with such a massive bill of massive proportions getting the green-light without clear yes or no? How can someone take the nation down that path?
More on reconciliation: http://articles.businessinsider.com/2010-01-17/news/29990286_1_41st-vote-filibuster-vote-republican-filibuster
Obamacare in brief: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/02/doctor-seeking-illinois-senate-seat-offers-brutal-diagnosis-obamacare-in-viral/
5. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
So this man repeatedly declines meetings with the governor of a state that is being overrun by barbarians (go on, ask me how many illegal immigrants end up in the federal pen) and goes on the offensive with his crony DoJ to try and tell a state that it can't protect its imploding border, because that's a job he's going to neglect to do? And this man has gone the extra mile to allow ILLEGAL immigration to continue unchecked.
And then there's the DREAM Act, which he couldn't get passed federally, so he skirted around just like he did with Obozocare:
On June 15, 2012, President Barack Obama announced that his administration would stop deporting young undocumented immigrants who match certain criteria previously proposed under the DREAM ACT. However, this change in policy does not cover most individuals who arrived in the U.S. legally (see the "Criticism" section below).
On August 15, 2012, the same day that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) began accepting applications under the Obama administration’s new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer issued an executive order preventing the state of Arizona from issuing driver’s licenses and public benefits to young undocumented immigrants who receive deferred status and work authorization under the new program. In addition to driving privileges, Governor Brewer’s order bars undocumented immigrants who qualify for deferred action from receiving state-subsidized child care, health insurance, unemployment benefits, business and professional licenses, and government contracts.[45] Thousands of individuals submitted applications for the new program.[46][47] In late August 2012, ten federal immigration agents sued Janet Napolitano, saying the directive forces them to break the law and ignore their duties.[48][49]
(Source: Wikipedia)
It started when a woman who identified herself as a teacher asked what she was supposed to tell parents (who were illegal immigrants) about why their children (who were also here illegally) couldn't go to college or apply for financial aid, even after they had worked hard and earned good grades.Navarrette, Ruben. "Illegal immigrants are criminals", San Diego Union-Tribune. 23 Oct 05
You see, typically, the pursuit of higher education requires a valid Social Security number, which illegal immigrants don't have. Some states also require that undocumented immigrant students pay exorbitantly high out-of-state tuition rates, even if they and their families have lived in that particular state and paid taxes for years.
My answer to the question shocked some in the mostly Latino audience: Tell the parents they made a terrible mistake when they came into the country illegally, and that they compounded that mistake every day that they stayed here without legal documentation. Explain to them that our actions have consequences and that one consequence of their decision to trespass across the border into the United States is that they and their children were destined to live lives that may never realize their full potential. Make them understand that, while they may be splendid parents in every other way, they did their children a great disservice by leaving them to wander in the shadows. - Unk.

We don't have the capacity to take on endless hordes who don't want to assimilate into our culture, and bog down our cities, and divert our resources from our own citizens. Listen to the Ethics of the Lifeboat:
If we divide the world crudely into rich nations and poor nations, two thirds of them are desperately poor, and only one third comparatively rich, with the United States the wealthiest of all. Metaphorically each rich nation can be seen as a lifeboat full of comparatively rich people. In the ocean outside each lifeboat swim the poor of the world, who would like to get in, or at least to share some of the wealth. What should the lifeboat passengers donate?
So here we sit, say 50 people in our lifeboat. To be generous, let us assume it has room for 10 more, making a total capacity of 60. Suppose the 50 of us in the lifeboat see 100 others swimming in the water outside, begging for admission to our boat or for handouts. We have several options: we may be tempted to try to live by the Christian ideal of being "our brother's keeper," or by the Marxist ideal of "to each according to his needs." Since the needs of all in the water are the same, and since they can all be seen as "our brothers," we could take them all into our boat, making a total of 150 in a boat designed for 60. The boat swamps, everyone drowns. Complete justice, complete catastrophe. - Garrett Hardin
4. DEFICIT SPENDING.
The housing bubble and its collapse was brought about by the Dems by propping up their insolvent constituencies and threatening banks (Reno) if it was not executed. Legislation was blocked that kept the banks' own self-protection measures healthy. THEN, the Democrats now have spent another $5,000,000,000,000 in mind-boggling ways, without reducing unemployment. Then they blame the poor situation on President Bush. We have ingrained an sulf-sustaining economy of leeches, handouts and cheap Wal-mart crap. It's like a drug addiction, his spending of money, with infinite checks, and no balance.

3. VANITY AND INEXPERIENCE.
Obama has bowed EIGHT times as President, to the Saudi King, the Emperor of Japan, the Queen of England, and many others. He is humble and servile to everyone except the people that elected him.

2. PURVEYOR OF PERVERSITY.
Being gay is something to [sort of] tolerate, not "celebrate".
Associating things with homosexuality in order to be trendy and gain favor with the morally and socially misguided is just another of a long line of examples of the decay of our society and 'defining deviancy down'. "We are not seeking to destroy anyone's rights, but simply protecting ours. Thus we may be seen contributing to a cause that supports our RIGHT likewise. It is marriage, a Jewish and Christian ordinance, that is under attack; not a fundamental right. The holy institution of marriage is the one subjected to intolerance at the prejudice of those who wish to redefine it at the whims of their own desires. Why do people so vehemently want to label a civil union as a marriage being that marriage was instituted by a God and a faith they so utterly despise?" -Unk
Effeminate himself, on his mission to remove an American machismo from the military and everywhere else, he has helped to thwart nature in this country andn ormalize insane, upside-down, passive culture. Anywhere he can weaken where we are strong, he has succeded.
"So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive. " - Pravda1. MARXIST-COMMUNIST.
Quoted from the Orange Country Register Letters to the Editor, 30SEP11, http://letters.ocregister.com/2011/09/30/there-will-never-be-a-fair-share/
No, you cannot redistribute your way to prosperity. It doesn’t work, period, end of issue.
Here is what Clueless Comrade Barry, Marxist Democrats – and their Useful Idiots – do not understand about taxes and capitalism.
Where do jobs and opportunities come from?
They come from entrepreneurs and investors taking chances with their own money and being right. They do not come from government bureaucrats picking winners and centrally planning an economy.
When entrepreneurs and investors take chances and are right, they create jobs and opportunities, yes, and they also create profits.
What happens when they reinvest those profits?
If they are right again, they create more jobs, opportunities and profits?
If they are wrong, they lose their time, energy and money.
What happens when the government redistributes their profits?
First, the entrepreneurs and investors do not have that capital to reinvest so even if their analysis and/or instincts are correct, they have fewer resources and thus will not be able to create as many jobs and opportunities… and even fewer profits going forward to restart the cycle.
Second, the government will redistribute those resources to somebody who has not proven they have the ability to create jobs and opportunities with government bureaucrats deciding who gets what. - Unk.
Obama has stolen the future from our children and grandchildren. He has taken away our freedom to believe that the next generation will be better off than ours is/was.
He has taken away the freedom of those Americans, who cannot find jobs, to earn a living and to provide for their families.
Obama has stolen our freedom to feel secure within our boundaries. He has taken away the freedom of a sovereign state to protect its citizens.
He has taken away the freedom of every American to have equal protection under the law. (He has issued a proclamation that black Americans engaged in voter intimidation against whites will not be prosecuted).
He has stolen taxpayer money and used it to reward his supporters and cronies, thereby stealing our freedom to pay taxes only for the legitimate purposes of government.
We have lost the freedom to be proud of our country.
Most of all Obama has stolen our freedom to expect the best from our government. He is rapidly driving us into bankruptcy and stealing our freedom to continue to exist as a strong and sovereign nation.
Obama is an inept, corrupt, and lying thief who has set himself on a course to destroy everything that is right and good about America.
If "the president" would stop taking shots at me, I'd be happy to stop pointing out his myriad of failures. But he continues to take my money and give it to his supporters by the trillions, so I have to defend myself at every opportunity. He continues to take my freedoms. He continues to limit my choices.
He has not enforced the law. I care about that. He has killed hundreds of Mexicans, and many USmericans, too, with his Fast and Furious debacle (designed as a ploy to further infringe the right to keep and bear arms). He has blood on his hands.
He is not assuring that our soldiers can vote. They're over there, in his words, for him. He could at least help them get the ballots they deserve.
As for Singh, I am happy for him. But he didn't build that, somebody else did that.
Mr. O'bama, where are the full-time Jobs? (And, while we're at it, where are the war-zone absentee ballots, Mr. Commander-in-Chief?

Article: Exposing the communist Robin Hood
Excerpt, by Thomas Sowell:
The recently discovered tape on which Barack Obama said back in 1998 that he believes in redistribution is not really news. He said the same thing to Joe the Plumber four years ago. But the tape's surfacing may serve a useful purpose if it gets people to thinking about the consequences of redistribution.
Those who talk glibly about redistribution often act as if people are just inert objects that can be placed here and there, like pieces on a chess board, to carry out some grand design. But if human beings have their own responses to government policies, then we cannot blithely assume that government policies will have the effect intended. The history of the 20th century is full of examples of countries that set out to redistribute wealth and ended up redistributing poverty. The communist nations were a classic example, but by no means the only example.

Flotsam and jetsam
Just a few notes. Drove myself to the doctor this a.m., made the mistake of tuning into NPR. Today's topic? Standard NPR white people talking about [white] racism in the U.S.. Some overzealous neighborhood watch chairman shot a black person, which is no doubt a tragedy - had heard mention made very briefly in the news last week. Allegedly, this was racism, or at least NPR's roundtable wished to perpetuate that. What a great way to start the day: Let's start the day with some "progressive" white guilt and keep beating that drum of disunity and disharmony.

Pelerin, Monty. (April 5, 2011) "When Government Turns Predator". American Thinker. Retrieved from http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/04/when_government_turns_predator.html
Hypothetical Case 1: Jim lives in a foreign country and has dutifully filed a US income tax return each year, but was unaware of FBAR filing retirements. Jim operates eight accounts: four retirement accounts (which he reported on his annual tax returns), two trading accounts, a checking account and a high interest savings account. The highest balance in these accounts is $1,000,000 over the last six years. His current balance is $800,000 after the market dip.
Jim doesn't know what to do. After great worry, he enters the Voluntary Disclosure Program. The IRS assesses Jim a $250,000 FBAR penalty. In order to pay the penalty, Jim must withdraw funds from his retirement accounts forcing an additional tax liability of $100,000 on the income. Jim is no longer able to retire because his $800,000 has been reduced to $450,000, solely as a result of IRS capriciousness.
Hypothetical case 2: Nancy is a teacher and mother of three, married to a citizen of the foreign country where she has lived for fifteen years. She dutifully filed her taxes in the US, but never knew about FBAR. A friend entered the Voluntary Disclosure Program and was assessed $14,000. She contemplates the renunciation of American citizenship, because her foreign husband owns a successful business and Nancy is a signer on business accounts. She fears exposing her husband's business to the IRS and also fears that upon her death, the IRS will seek its pound of flesh from her estate. She renounces citizenship, though it breaks her heart.

Protest malaise strikes Mudville
What a cartoon! This diagram has a large amount of truth to it, from everything I'm hearing. Interesting, but only modestly so in the past few weeks. We have political malaise - don't know what the protests are angry about except Wall St. Are they mad about the mass bailouts? Not really. Are they mad about the government spending us into oblivion? Not particularly. They don't appear to have a cause. They're loud. If they're against The Fed, they have my attention. One skinny-jeans hipster did unspeakable things to a police car. I saw a poster in downtown Awfulk protesting something, but nobody seemed to care.
Keep in mind these questions: Are the protestors being manipulated? What are their motives? Why are the liberals praising them, but lambasting the Tea Party, who's driving force was the most earnest desire to unfudge [expletive redacted] the hemorrhaging economy?

Joe vs. Jose - land of the free stuff
Thought this was an interesting, to the point explanation of why we need to look at this problem and address it. It's not racism. It's being accountable for your needs and responsibilities like the rest of us.
Interesting when you work the numbers.
You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California.
- Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.
- Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".
- Ready? Now pay attention...
- Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.
- Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.0 0 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.
- Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.
- Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.
- Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.
- Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.
- Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has 9,631 .00.
- Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.
- Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.
- Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.
- Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.
- Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month..
- Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.
- Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family. Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.
- Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Great Ideas (working title) by Cagey
What if:
-...I relocated and opened an all English speaking American themed restaurant overseas hiring only those of American descent? Would people probe my authenticity by trying to speak to me in American dialects? Would they ask, "Is it o.k. if I speak English?" Like when I go into a Japanese restaurant and ask "Nihongo daijobu desu ka?" 邦人 スポーク これで?
-...I had an all-day Mad Max marathon today? If that's wrong, I don't wanna be right.
-...I opened a small business? Is the current regulatory environment in the U.S. too restrictive to allow small businesses to sustain themselves before government gets its cut? And like Michael Savage asks, why do lawmakers no longer use the word "taxes", but instead complain that with the debt ceiling concessions made to the lefties, they will not get enough "revenue"?

Article: "Is America the sick man of the world?"
by Nick Carey (Reuters)

Editorial comment: This story hits home, well, because I've lived in Michigan and I want the best for my home team. It's a beautiful place with a great history and a resilient people. The only thing that I wish this story had mentioned was the liberalization that fostered the disastrous housing bubble, i.e. the threats to the bankers from the Reno DoJ.
Excerpt:
"The whole country is now seeing the story that Michigan has been living with for a long time," said Diane Swonk, chief economist at Mesirow Financial.
After World War Two, unskilled blue-collar jobs in manufacturing -- typified and in many ways defined by the auto sector -- became America's easy path to the middle class. As U.S. manufacturing declined, starting in the 1980s Congress and successive administrations focused instead on the financial sector and relied on debt -- its own and that of the U.S. consumer -- to foster economic growth.
At the same time, U.S. companies faced a growing competitive challenge, largely from Asia -- both in terms of manufacturing prowess and lower wages and legacy costs -- that hastened the nation's exodus from the sector.
At the other end of the spectrum, deregulation and a laissez-faire attitude toward financial institutions culminated in the housing "boom" that former Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray (who failed to win reelection in November) has aptly described as a "Roman orgy" of debt.
The subsequent downturn, the deepest and longest since the 1930s, merely exposed the extent of the hollowing out of America's manufacturing sector. By one estimate, since 2003 up to 20,000 manufacturing plants have shut down. The trend is leaving the country with a legion of unskilled workers stuck on long-term unemployment benefits.
