L.A. Times immigration article is classic example of modern journalistic demagoguery

The article: "Kern County sheriff a defiant California maverick on immigration" by Kate Linthicum, published April 9, 2015.

So he's a maverick.  Is that good or bad?  Does the media take an implicit role in normalizing illegal activity and the Malthusian issue of illegal immigration?  Well, assuming you'll have to read through to find out, the author will have achieved her objective of planting her liberal seed unless you maintain a critical eye - something that the media relies on you NOT to do, and what I estimate 3/4 of the U.S. population doesn't care about anyway.

In the above linked article, a California sheriff retains his prerogative in areas where state and federal laws don't mesh on the deportation of illegal aliens, and the journalist ends her article with this quote:
"If everybody thought the same, this would be a pretty boring place," Youngblood said. "This is where I learned my behaviors and my thoughts and my beliefs. None of which make me right." 
It's sadly conventional wisdom that journalists harbor an iconoclastic ethos in order to dismantle traditional values and institutions of the American republic.  [The American Journalist - Pew Research Center]

This article's hidden agenda is exposed at the end:  Vilify any figure opposed to liberal runaway detrimental policies supporting illegal immigration, with subtlety or not. 

Here, the author ends with a sentence that was cut-off mid-stream.  Backing up, the core of her article was how an illegal was severely beaten, and afraid to ask for help due to the possibility of being deported - in the grand scheme - due the sheriff's obedience to the rule of law.

The final part of the story focuses on seemingly mute details, such as the sheriff's traditional hearth, and the conservative presence within. 

Building up to that point, she ends the article with, "None of which make me right," prompting the ordinary reader to wonder what the sheriff said next.  Surely the interview didn't end there, with the sheriff contradicting himself. 

Congratulations - by cutting off there, the sheriff never gets to complete his thought, and the reader will walk away thinking, "Oh, the sheriff just said he was never right," assuming the litote is true: the affirmation of the negative.  A strong negative at the end of the article isn't an explicit claim that the sheriff is wrong in any conservative practices, but it is a great example of how the media conditions the public, has shifted from taking neutral positions to aiming at conservative values, and debunks common sense.

An open letter to the GOP on amnesty



An open letter to the GOP on third parties and Lost causes. By way of introduction – let’s just say I’m one of Millions of formally loyal supporters of the GOP, we donate small amounts and volunteer to make phone calls and knock on doors and do things we don’t like to do just to support the Republican party – the people you are taking for granted.
We’re also the folks who are standing by dumbfounded as you’re doing the Democratic socialists' bidding of creating a whole new underclass of Dem voters granting amnesty to the illegal invaders.
Did people stick with the Titanic as it was sinking below the waves?
You say we will lose if we don’t support the party – well, we’re going to be losing anyway so, ‘What difference does it make?’ [To coin a phrase]
Let me fill you in on a couple totally freaking obvious facts that have escaped your well healed notice:
A). The Leftist-Socialist National Media is NEVER GOING TO BE YOUR FRIEND – learn this really obvious fact and put it in big block letters over your desks so you can remember it.
B). The Media and the DNC are going to label you Racists, terrorists or whatever unless you cease to be Conservatives and become a variation of their Socialist selves.
C). Never do what the enemy wants you to do – this is so blindingly so obvious the great strategist Sun Tzu didn’t bother saying this self-evident truth.
So, what do you need to do to get us to stick with you and get us back into your good graces?
1). STOP SUPPORTING AMNESTY FOR 30 MILLION NEW DEMOCRATIC VOTERS.
Mark my words, you can either drop the insane idea of amnesty for the illegal invaders or you can destroy the party - It’s your choice. Pushing amnesty will either create 30 million new voters for Democratic largess or it will fractionalize the party.
2). Stop insanely nominating Rinocrats in the futile hope that the media will be ‘nice’ to you and not put the full weight of their propaganda machine to work shredding said candidate.
3). Stop trying to outbid the socialist with government largess.
It should be plain that you need to stand up for Conservative values – that is the only thing that will save the country from it’s inevitable demise at the hands of the socialists.
IF you do not do those simple things to save the party and save the nation, it will be AMF. You can stuff your endless appeals for my donations, and your admonitions to volunteer will fall on deaf ears.

What's in a name? AP tries to radically alter language (again)



Agenda-driven language saboteurs strike again!  The Associated Press, which has a very broad reach in its decisions over journalists' use of modern language, oversees style or "word selection" more and more in news articles and has issued its latest decree:  Don't use the term "illegal immigrants".  It has chosen to put the full weight of its words behind a political issue, which is de facto editorializing in what is supposed to be neutrally reported news - fundamentally a big no-no, right?  Unfortunately, we've gotten away from that.  It's not as if this couldn't have been predicted; at some point, the AP ran out of punctuation and grammar issues to mediate and not content to just report the news, the establishment now has turned to meddling in politics for the benefit of issues cherished by destructive liberal forces.  News has lost most of its credibility anyway, just Google "The day journalism died" and you'll get thousands of results, unfortunately it's not as if information consumers will care.  One more hardly noticed straw on the camel's back.

Nothing would make the Democratic-owned press happier than a 100% postmodern, neutered audience that blissfully drives its Priuses while it wrests the final gasp for truth from its dying profession and emerging the legitimated Fourth Estate.  I disagree that the words "illegal immigrant" are emotionally charged.  I have seen people carrying signs that "humans aren't illegal", but they're terribly misguided.  The word illegal modifies the status or disposition of a person - an immigrant - the number of which constitutes a growing U.S. crisis - and not the person himself.

The interpretation of words, the power of which is concisely detailed in the Bible, is the starting point for human affairs. In the Bible, we see that language used in the wrong way can hurt others and expose the soul.  It is a powerful and potentially injurious force. Words should be chosen carefully, although I'm not an expert in what the Bible claims.  At any rate, this idea holds water from personal experience alone and without tons of analysis or (dare I say it) deconstruction.  I do know the Bible encourages judgement in speech and acknowledges their transactional and metaphysical value.

Whether it's a jar at the store, your front door, or the words used in everyday language, when you see  tampering, be suspicious.  Intentional alteration of words' meaning, and thus IDEAS, especially by those who claim to be authorities on our means of communicating them, will not bring us nearer to truth.

Leftists just can't get anything right! Why would that be? Perhaps their exclusive preoccupation with their beliefs about how the world SHOULD FUNCTION, make them blind and ignorant of how it actually DOES FUNCTION. They deny realities which contradict their utopian visions. They believe human nature has no spiritual dimension and can be modified and altered by messaging and propaganda. Most of all, they believe that it is their superior intelligence and understanding which entitles them to advise the rest of humanity about what to say, to do, and to believe. Obama is as deluded as his 'advisers' so no one should be surprised why a monumental mistake like the 'Apology Tour' actually occurred. Ba rake Insane Reclama is going to lose, I'm just wondering where the mindless race baiting drones will stage their riots and looting.  Is he racist?  You'd better damned well believe it.  For a shell of a man who identifies himself as "black", what does he think about his "white" side, since he is 50% of Caucasian blood.  Why doesn't he identify as "mixed"?

Concepts like honor are foreign to him - this is why you must not elect him. Disdain for servicemen, love of self, love of Jay-Z, love of expensive parties, love of 100+ rounds of golf (more time spent golfing than in economic meetings). Ya think?

- Skipping out on the 100 year anniversary of the Boy Scouts, who believe in "being morally straight"  -  - to go yak with the clucking hens of The View

- To Medvedev - "After the election I'll have more flexibility," to change the U.S. to one big liberal morass, obviously

- Not holding his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, taking exception with people wearing U.S. flag lapel pins

- Having the cross removed from public view (e.g. Georgetown University) prior to his speaking engagements

- His party refusing to acknowledge God at the DNC.  In fact, the masses were adamant about leaving Him out

- And the loudest of all, "You didn't build that," showing his true colors, that the individual citizen is inferior to the state, unworthy of merit, and thus must be subservient to the state, and capitalism is to be reviled.





6. HUSSEIN-CARE.



It's known for the greatest single tax increase in American history.  It exposed corruption in Congress (e.g. "The Louisiana Purchase") and bribery.  A public policy nightmare, it polarized the nation, and a wise leader would've known to fix it before alienating over half the people with a 2,000 page juggernaut nobody understood, and couldn't even read. It was pushed through with convoluted technical tactics ("reconciliation"), and how comfortable do you feel with such a massive bill of massive proportions getting the green-light without clear yes or no?  How can someone take the nation down that path?

5. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.



So this man repeatedly declines meetings with the governor of a state that is being overrun by barbarians (go on, ask me how many illegal immigrants end up in the federal pen) and goes on the offensive with his crony DoJ to try and tell a state that it can't protect its imploding border, because that's a job he's going to neglect to do? And this man has gone the extra mile to allow ILLEGAL immigration to continue unchecked.



And then there's the DREAM Act, which he couldn't get passed federally, so he skirted around just like he did with Obozocare:

It started when a woman who identified herself as a teacher asked what she was supposed to tell parents (who were illegal immigrants) about why their children (who were also here illegally) couldn't go to college or apply for financial aid, even after they had worked hard and earned good grades.



You see, typically, the pursuit of higher education requires a valid Social Security number, which illegal immigrants don't have. Some states also require that undocumented immigrant students pay exorbitantly high out-of-state tuition rates, even if they and their families have lived in that particular state and paid taxes for years.



My answer to the question shocked some in the mostly Latino audience: Tell the parents they made a terrible mistake when they came into the country illegally, and that they compounded that mistake every day that they stayed here without legal documentation. Explain to them that our actions have consequences and that one consequence of their decision to trespass across the border into the United States is that they and their children were destined to live lives that may never realize their full potential. 2. PURVEYOR OF PERVERSITY.

No, you cannot redistribute your way to prosperity. It doesn’t work, period, end of issue.

Here is what Clueless Comrade Barry, Marxist Democrats – and their Useful Idiots – do not understand about taxes and capitalism.

Where do jobs and opportunities come from?

They come from entrepreneurs and investors taking chances with their own money and being right. They do not come from government bureaucrats picking winners and centrally planning an economy.

When entrepreneurs and investors take chances and are right, they create jobs and opportunities, yes, and they also create profits.

What happens when they reinvest those profits?
If they are right again, they create more jobs, opportunities and profits?

If they are wrong, they lose their time, energy and money.
What happens when the government redistributes their profits?
First, the entrepreneurs and investors do not have that capital to reinvest so even if their analysis and/or instincts are correct, they have fewer resources and thus will not be able to create as many jobs and opportunities… and even fewer profits going forward to restart the cycle.
Second, the government will redistribute those resources to somebody who has not proven they have the ability to create jobs and opportunities with government bureaucrats deciding who gets what. - Unk.

Obama has stolen the future from our children and grandchildren. He has taken away our freedom to believe that the next generation will be better off than ours is/was.

He has taken away the freedom of those Americans, who cannot find jobs, to earn a living and to provide for their families.

Obama has stolen our freedom to feel secure within our boundaries. He has taken away the freedom of a sovereign state to protect its citizens.

He has taken away the freedom of every American to have equal protection under the law. (He has issued a proclamation that black Americans engaged in voter intimidation against whites will not be prosecuted).

He has stolen taxpayer money and used it to reward his supporters and cronies, thereby stealing our freedom to pay taxes only for the legitimate purposes of government.

We have lost the freedom to be proud of our country.

Most of all Obama has stolen our freedom to expect the best from our government. He is rapidly driving us into bankruptcy and stealing our freedom to continue to exist as a strong and sovereign nation.

Obama is an inept, corrupt, and lying thief who has set himself on a course to destroy everything that is right and good about America.

If "the president" would stop taking shots at me, I'd be happy to stop pointing out his myriad of failures. But he continues to take my money and give it to his supporters by the trillions, so I have to defend myself at every opportunity. He continues to take my freedoms. He continues to limit my choices.

He has not enforced the law. I care about that. He has killed hundreds of Mexicans, and many USmericans, too, with his Fast and Furious debacle (designed as a ploy to further infringe the right to keep and bear arms). He has blood on his hands.

He is not assuring that our soldiers can vote. They're over there, in his words, for him. He could at least help them get the ballots they deserve.

As for Singh, I am happy for him. But he didn't build that, somebody else did that.

Mr. O'bama, where are the full-time Jobs? (And, while we're at it, where are the war-zone absentee ballots, Mr. Commander-in-Chief?

I was accessing FB on my lunch break. The page did not load correctly, and now I think I inadvertently clicked THE DOOM SWITCH and now have timeline. Timeline is cluttered and ugly. Myspaceish. Please put my profile back together (like Humpty Dumpty).

Zuckerberg- turd!  I hope the stock falls below < $0.01!  (Or do I?  CA is getting tons of free money for it, probably gives them an excuse to keep coddling all their illegal alien princes and princesses.)

Just in case you were thinking lately that the direction of the U.S. is toward normalcy - YOU'RE WRONG! So the official position of this government is to look the other way - a.k.a. selectively enforce laws it disagrees with politically. This is not protecting the people, this is betraying the public trust.  And now, 10 years after 9/11, we're having:

I stand here today aiming to make a simple case on the subject of America’s border with Mexico and our illegal immigration policy. I know my words will be distorted by those who disagree. My opponents have already painted me as hard-hearted and uncompassionate. They’re wrong. My career, my record, my life … all stands as proof as to how wrong the critics are.

The truth I’ve come to share with you is anything but hateful. It has nothing to do with skin color, nothing to do with extremism. Instead, it’s rooted in FREEDOM. Tell that to the friends and relatives of a brave and noble border patrol agent – Agent Brian Terry – a victim of a border gang that was armed by our own federal government – allowing guns to be shipped into Mexico in the scandalous Fast-and-Furious Operation.

Tell that to the Arizonans who wake up to find a drop house raid in progress, or who witness high-speed chases on our freeways and in our neighborhoods, or who spend hours in an overburdened emergency room on a Saturday night, waiting while consoling a suffering child. Tell that to our taxpayers, forced to bear the expenses – including state and federal prison cells overflowing with thousands of illegal alien felons – at a total cost of more than one billion dollars each year.

Those are the facts, plain and simple. Our opponents, the self-styled do-gooders, try mightily to bury them. They spin and shout, hate and denounce. To disagree with them, I’ve learned, is to suffer incredible verbal abuse. But, let me assure you, I can live with those consequences, because I believe in the truth and I believe in taking action to protect our hard-won freedoms. Besides, no amount of distortion can hide the absolute truth.

The federal government – Republicans and Democrats alike – has failed every single American. All of us. Washington’s abdication of responsibility is the overarching outrage of America’s illegal immigration crisis. America’s failure to understand this problem at a national level – and deal with it – has haunted border states like mine for decades.For years, Washington has stood idly by, letting our southern border grow more porous and more dangerous.

For years, they’ve tolerated a situation that every day encourages the wanton violation of our neighborhoods’ integrity and safety. The freedom I believe in should be protected by a framework of laws enforced consistently and impartially. I believe in a prosperity that should be enjoyed by all – on both sides of the border. I believe in a relationship with Mexico that celebrates a partnership – one that encourages a dynamic trading environment – a testament to international understanding and friendship. For that to happen, there must be commitment on both sides of the line. Without that commitment, we will have only more of the same.

If Arizona and America are to thrive over the next two decades, Arizona, Washington, D.C., and Mexico must work to create a legal and secure framework to grow our economy and Mexico’s … together. Arizona needs a border that is secure in preventing illegal immigration but effective in promoting swift and easy legal entry. We need ports of entry that facilitate the efficient transaction of goods and products between Arizona and Mexico, our largest trading partner. We cannot allow outdated ports of entry to result in excessive wait times that push legal commerce and industry to other states. We are making progress. Our largest commercial crossing at Mariposa will go from 4 to 12 passenger lanes this year, and is doubling its number of commercial inspection lanes.

Likewise, we have just recently completed expansion at the Lukeville port of entry and opened a brand new commercial port of entry at San Luis II.But we can’t stop there.Last month, I traveled to Rocky Point, Mexico and joined my good friend Governor Padres to meet with business and government leaders representing Arizona and Sonora. I told them that our two states represent a border region, and this region is competing worldwide for jobs and economic development. A secure border – one that blocks criminal trafficking but facilitates legal trade and commerce – is not contrary to our shared goal of economic prosperity. It is simply essential.

In closing, let me say that with the help of individuals like those of you in this room today, we’ll continue to push for an effective border that protects our citizens while welcoming tourism, trade and commerce. We’ll push for a border that aids Arizona’s economic growth – and Mexico’s economic growth, without enabling the crime that threatens our citizens.And, we’ll push for the federal government to finally fulfill its obligations to the American people when it comes to securing our border and enforcing our nation’s immigration laws.

Standing strong with all of you, I know we can do this. Again, thank you all for being here. May God bless you and the great state Arizona. And may God always bless and protect the United States of America.

Article: "Two Californias"

California coastal elites may worry about the oxygen content of water available to a three-inch smelt in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta, but they seem to have no interest in the epidemic dumping of trash, furniture, and often toxic substances throughout California’s rural hinterland. Yesterday, for example, I rode my bike by a stopped van just as the occupants tossed seven plastic bags of raw refuse onto the side of the road. I rode up near their bumper and said in my broken Spanish not to throw garbage onto the public road. But there were three of them, and one of me. So I was lucky to be sworn at only. I note in passing that I would not drive into Mexico and, as a guest, dare to pull over and throw seven bags of trash into the environment of my host.
So there is a surreal nature to these protests: something like, “Please do not send me back to the culture I nostalgically praise; please let me stay in the culture that I ignore or deprecate.” I think the DREAM Act protestors might have been far more successful in winning public opinion had they stopped blaming the U.S. for suggesting that they might have to leave at some point, and instead explained why, in fact, they want to stay. What it is about America that makes a youth of 21 go on a hunger strike or demonstrate to be allowed to remain in this country rather than return to the place of his birth?

I think I know the answer to this paradox. Missing entirely in the above description is the attitude of the host, which by any historical standard can only be termed “indifferent.” California does not care whether one broke the law to arrive here or continues to break it by staying. It asks nothing of the illegal immigrant — no proficiency in English, no acquaintance with American history and values, no proof of income, no record of education or skills. It does provide all the public assistance that it can afford (and more that it borrows for), and apparently waives enforcement of most of California’s burdensome regulations and civic statutes that increasingly have plagued productive citizens to the point of driving them out. How odd that we overregulate those who are citizens and have capital to the point of banishing them from the state, but do not regulate those who are aliens and without capital to the point of encouraging millions more to follow in their footsteps. How odd — to paraphrase what Critias once said of ancient Sparta — that California is at once both the nation’s most unfree and most free state, the most repressed and the wildest.

Colossal immigration catch 22s in post-modern America finally coming to light

What part of invasion do we not understand?  Madness being propagated by the MSM and democratic anti-Americans this week as Shamnesty II: National Suicide Boogaloo ramps up for a volley.

You really need to see this video if you can find it:  A group of a dozen or so illegals running through the actual vehicle checkpoint at the San Diego/Tijuana border, weaving their way around cars, suitcases and clothes in hand.  The brazenness in this instance was particularly appalling, entering in broad daylight, at an official security checkpoint.  It's nowhere near as bad as the miles of trash left behind in the desert, or anything like this anecdote suggests:

"Throughout the 1980's and early 90's the 14-mile stretch of border in San Diego was hostile, violent, and out of control," wrote Glynn Custred, an emeritus professor of anthropology at CSU East Bay. "Crowds would gather on the Tijuana side and pelt border-patrol agents with rocks ...almost daily thousands of Mexicans would gather on the U.S. side, then dash forward en masse in what were known as banzai runs."- Louis Freedberg
The deluge of immigration headlines in the past several days since Gov. Brewer (AZ) signed a new immigration enforcement bill makes the lines in the sand very visible separating people of reason, who believe in sovereignty and law, and the irrational crowd who trumps reason with the magic race card.  I can't buy the argument against sovereignty - all arguments should cease much earlier than getting to that point.  Some legal immigration is needed.  However, unchecked immigration levels are unsustainable, meaning this:  Look at America as a lifeboat.  You have room for 50 people, 50 more are in the drink.  What do you do?  Instead of availing themselves to logic or even listening, opponents make absurd claims that without the illegals, oranges will cost $500 a bushel.  Nonsense. The welfare state plays a large role in this, and our abundance of convenience, and our overflowing self-love all contribute to this idea.  When there is work to be had, people will work.  Competition for work is still a non sequitur, but the old ways of going to work in whatever was available do seem to be lost on us. 

It is passing strange for federal officials, including the president, to accuse Arizona of irresponsibility while the federal government is refusing to fulfill its responsibility to control the nation's borders. Such control is an essential attribute of national sovereignty. - George Will
 
"Ask any American of every ethnicity how often they are asked for picture ID. The answer is it happens on a daily basis- checking into hotels, using credit cards, at job interviews. We should be used to this by now. The only place we don’t have to be documented is at the voting booth. If voters had to prove their eligibility the Democrats would lose their base and their power. Once again the Democrats are displaying the Pavlovian response of injecting race into issues that should be looked at instead with common sense." - Alicia Colon

Enforcement: why not?  The impetus for the Arizona law stems from the federal government not protecting the border, while border states are left to absorb the billions of dollars in costs from those with no interest but self-interest. 

"As the rhetoric on illegal immigration continues to grow out of control, it’s more important than ever to share the facts on Arizona’s new law. The reality is that Arizona’s new law mirrors federal law, which the federal government is not enforcing. George Will put it in perspective; the federal government's refusal to control the border is what has caused this problem in the first place."

Encouragingly, several states are following suit even though the sewer pipe of misinformation flowing from the MSM posits that enforcing standing laws is not in America's best interest.

"You would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to see that the grand plan of the Democrats is to entrap illegal immigrants by giving them legal status and then enslave and destroy them with numerous Fedzilla handouts and programs."   - Ted Nugent

The president himself recently used the race card, rallying African-Americans, Latinos, and women to help elect Demoncats in the Congressional elections this year.  This is the same great uniter that denounces the Arizona law, and whose biggest accomplishment will be to upend every stone looking to legally circumvent Congress and ignore the will of the American people in health care reform efforts.

The best news so far is that the Arizona law will influence illegals to depart Arizona, and states are building steam in crafting their own self-preservation doctrine, encouraged by the brave people of Arizona who weren't afraid to adopt common sense.  "Oklahoma, Ohio, Utah, Georgia, Colorado, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, Nebraska, and Missouri have all taken up measures similar to that of Arizona." (Ibid.) It is utterly clear that no state wanted to be first in doing this, otherwise we would have seen a lot more Prop 187s.  Additionally, a courageous new bill is working its way up the chain in Arizona, which seeks to deny public funding to schools teaching ethnic studies - "The new bill would make it illegal for a school district to teach any courses that promote the overthrow of the U.S. government, promote resentment of a particular race or class of people, are designed primarily for students of a particular ethnic group or 'advocate ethnic solidarity instead of the treatment of pupils as individuals'."  I have said often before that more than ever, this country suffers from a lack of national unity, promoting diversity at every turn - the Tower of Babel, a nation divided against itself. 

The current political environment is so blanched by the death of common sense in America, we find it easier to make millions of tiny, relatively anonymous pinpricks at our foundations than to make a concerted protest against the forces that threaten them.

Brace yourselves for commie freako impact...


You've caught me in a grim mood, genteel reader.


My inbox this weekend had the makings of a big anti-American wallop in the works, a harbinger of unabashed iconoclasm well in the open:


1. Hate crimes statutes, a.k.a. thought crimes, (call them what they REALLY are) are percolating again. This screams against reason. Every crime is committed with a degree of hatred toward law and order. Why should there be double jeopardy for something done with an evil or at least untoward end in the first place? This threat stifles free speech, and sets a nihilistic snowball in motion toward 'everything's relative', 'if it feels good, do it.' No problem there - but anything counter to opening the floodgates in the spirit of said 60s mantra, then you're intolerant, and must defend against a label rather than advance with reason. A popular tactic of the scions of community organizing.

2. Jesus missing from speech: Why did The White House request the symbol representing Jesus be covered at the President's speech at Georgetown last week? At least The Sermon on the Mount was mentioned in the President's speech. Crickets.

3. Gov't vs. USMC: Look at the so-called Haditha massacre. Your troops are becoming scapegoated for doing their jobs and will need to henceforward second guess all of their battlefield decisions based on the fear of being prosecuted. Not a good situation to be in. May have been a similar instance with the SWAT vs. the evil CA parolee two weeks ago (the parolee killed 4 officers). I'm told the police followed restrictive ROE which made them less able to act, because heaven knows everytime a thug is killed, it's the fault of vindictive policemen. Lt Col Chesani has been absolved at least twice for any wrongdoing. How is it in the govt's best interest to spend this much time and resources trying to convict one of their own, and a war-hero?


4. Targeting right-wing speech: This exceptionally stupid report was another politically motivated attack on conservatism (see earlier post, 'Fusion Centers'). Napolitano, a former governor of the state of Arizona, could have done more, much more to stem the flow of invaders from south of the border during her tenure, but acted contrary to the wishes of her constituency based on personal politics - unethical and absurd. Now she's DHS? Good job.

So she was asked a loaded question by a pervert, responded in kind with her beliefs, and will probably be targeted by '1' and '4' above. I tell you what, friends: It's a race to the bottom. Any reasonable person should be outraged at the swirling cloud of anti-reason looming in. So brace yourselves. At least Miss U.S.A.'s standing up for normalcy, and maybe bought one more week for those of us that would like to speak out in public for the American way.

No more sheep's clothing: Missouri Fusion Center calls right 'terrorists'

Debacle.

If you hadn't heard (which wouldn't be a stretch because news like this goes underneath the radar), everyone from larger online and print media outlets (e.g. 'Drudge') to blogs picked up a story about the Missouri Fusion Center writing a report which recklessly associated libertarians with terrorists. This would include a major candidate like Ron Paul, and so if you decided to vote "None of the Above" in the previous election because you thought Candidate A and Candidate B were equally unpalatable, well, this would put you in the category of a militia-man or terrorist.

From what I read, the governor of Missouri distanced himself from the report.


Patrick Wood of The August Review wrote: “For unsuspecting law enforcement personnel, this MIAC training document polarizes unsuspecting [law enforcement] officers to fear peaceful, law-abiding citizens and greatly increases the risk of armed confrontation. For instance, a routine traffic stop would be escalated if the officer observes a Ron Paul or Chuck Baldwin bumper sticker on the rear bumper of the car. The mere possession of printed material such as the US Constitution or Bill of Rights would be viewed as subversive, even though most officers are required to take an oath to ‘defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States’ as a condition of their employment.”

Missouri state Representative Jim Guest reportedly said he was "shocked and outraged" at the MIAC report, which Wood stated implies “paints him and many other elected state leaders, as a potential threats to law enforcement… Instead of focusing on actual criminal incidents of ‘home-grown’ terrorism, the MAIC report instead lists issues that it believes are common to the threats it perceives.”

Do some second-level analysis: Consider what's fresh from the stove on CNN and Newsweek right now: The "Meltdown of Rush etc. ad nauseam." The Orwellian 'Fairness Doctrine'. How long before an official calls Rush Limbaugh or Michael Savage a terrorist? With anti-conservative sway in full motion, I am very curious as to what will be done to top this travesty now that editorializing is sanctioned as intelligence.

Let's stop tearing George Bush apart or putting him on a pedestal. Let's stop doing the same thing to Barack Obama. Let's talk about the principles that built this nation. Let's talk about the principles that when they're rediscovered and applied every day by individuals in this country, we will then know who to vote for and who to give our power to in Washington because we'll know and they'll know."

In an Absolut world


This was the rebuttal was made to the offensive ad made by Absolut's marketing firm in Mexico City. I don't have the stomach to post the original ad, I felt physically ill after seeing it. I'd like to mention the notion of 'reconquista' here. Is there really a popular philosophical movement underfoot in Mexico to invade and take the states of the western U.S.?

Mexican head of state initiates Information Warfare campaign in favor of illegals


Precis: Would it be any wonder that Presidente Felipe Calderon chooses to exploit one of our greatest Achilles' heels; that of influencing public opinion with commercials? Our society has developed thanks to open communication, "which shall not be abridged." But what about when a foreign state uses the medium of television as leverage against U.S. law? Hey, the Mexicans have found out how to use Capitalism against us to benefit their own economy. Kind of ironic, huh?

What puzzles me most is how we permit the spread of this kind of propaganda - that is, the promotion of law-breaking and the breakdown of order, in a word: anarchy. Read below:

Mexican president lashes out at U.S. candidates
Government to finance public relations push to change American opinions


The government announced that it would sharply lower the banking fees that are charged for remittances to immigrants’ relatives in Mexico City, the capital, to as little as $3 for a $500 transfer. No transfer would cost more than $10 under the program, which is a partnership with the national banking corporation Grupo Financiero Banorte.
It also said it would back a proposal by the immigrants agency to organize a coalition of Mexican activists inside the United States to respond to political attacks on immigrants. The coalition would be called la Liga contra la Discriminación de los Mexicanos en Estados Unidos, or the League Against Discrimination of Mexicans in the United States.

PR campaign targeted at the U.S. public

But the most unusual initiative would budget an undisclosed amount for a campaign inside the United States to “win the battle of public opinion” by highlighting inspirational “success stories” of Mexican immigrants who had prospered in American society.
Calderón did not disclose details of the new campaign, but he said it would help the U.S. public recognize “the irreplaceable contribution of Mexicans to the United States, to its economy and its society.”
A particular target will be the U.S. news media, where he said he would seek an “objective dialogue” on immigration.
“Strategies of simple confrontation and rudeness aggravate an anti-Mexican feeling,” Calderón said, amplifying “the worse phobias even more.”
